MOdel T
The Model T was the Ford Company's first automobile to be sold to the people. Ford highly encouraged citizens to buy his Model T. Ford often drove around in the Model T in order to show its reliability. Ford wanted the Model T to be the first affordable automobile to be available to the middle-class American. The Ford Model T was named the world's most influential car of the 20th century in an international poll. The Model T was the first mass-produced automobile with interchangable parts. Henry Ford said, "I will build a car for the great multitude. It will be large enough for the family, but small enough for the individual to run and care for. It will be constructed of the best materials, by the best men to be hired, after the simplest designs that modern engineering can devise. But it will be so low in price that no man making a good salary will be unable to own one – and enjoy with his family the blessing of hours of pleasure in God's great open spaces." Ford also introduced the placement of the steering wheel on the left side of the automobile. This changed the way all of the other automobile companies produced their vehicles. Soon, these other automobile companies began to follow the trend and attatched the steering wheel to the left side on their vehicles.
